About Sia

Sia Furler, better known by her stage name Sia, is an Australian singer, songwriter, and music video director. With a career spanning over two decades, Sia has become one of the most acclaimed and influential artists in the music industry.

Born on December 18th, 1975 in Adelaide, Australia, Sia started her musical journey at a young age. She began performing as a vocalist for the local acid jazz band “Crisp” in the mid-1990s before launching her solo career. In 2000, she released her debut studio album titled “OnlySee”, which received moderate success in Australia.

However, it was not until 2014 that Sia gained widespread recognition with the release of her sixth studio album “1000 Forms of Fear”. The lead single from this album, “Chandelier”, became an international hit and earned three Grammy nominations. This catapulted Sia into mainstream success and established her as a force to be reckoned with in pop music.

One of the main reasons for Sia’s popularity lies not only in her powerful vocals but also in her unique songwriting style. Throughout her career, she has penned hits for numerous popular artists such as Rihanna (“Diamonds”), BeyoncĂ© (“Pretty Hurts”), and Katy Perry (“Chained to the Rhythm”). Her ability to write catchy hooks and compelling lyrics has set her apart from other singers in the industry.

In addition to this, another factor that sets Sia apart is her distinctive appearance on stage. She is often seen donning oversized wigs or covering half of her face during performances or public appearances. This anonymity allows Sia to maintain privacy while also highlighting that what truly matters is not physical appearance but rather talent.

Sia’s music also reflects personal struggles like depression and addiction which adds depth and authenticity to her songs. Her emotionally charged and powerful ballads have touched millions of hearts and connected her with a massive fan base worldwide.
